Private notes are a space within any Fellow meeting note where you can write things only visible to you. No other meeting attendees, admins, or managers can see what you've written - making it a great place to prep, reflect, or track personal context before, during, and after meetings. Private notes are available on all Fellow plans.
Privacy and visibility
Private notes are only accessible within the Fellow account you are logged into. This means that you (and any delegates you may have added) are the only ones who can see what you've written - not even administrators or your manager.
Note: Ask Fellow cannot access the content written in your private notes. Private notes are explicitly excluded from Ask Fellow's search scope and will never appear in AI-generated responses or summaries.
By default, private notes are blurred when you open a note series to prevent accidental visibility. Click the click to show icon to reveal them at any time.
Action items added in your private notes will appear on your action items page and tab, but remain visible only to you.
Click the right-facing arrow to collapse the private note panel. This is especially useful when sharing your screen. Click the private note icon again to reopen the private note view.
Tip: Preparing talking points before a meeting but not ready to share them yet? Draft them in your private note, then copy and paste them into the collaborative note when you're ready.
Navigating and customizing private notes
Private notes support the same formatting options as any other Fellow note - including action items, talking points, bullets, headers, and more.
To rename a private note, click the โฏ (three-dot) menu and select Rename.
Clicking the name of your private note opens a dropdown listing all other private notes in that series. Select any note to jump to it:
Click the paper icon to open the meeting note associated with the private note you currently have open.
