Unscheduled Notes

Create and organize notes that aren't tied to a calendar event

Sometimes you need to jot something down that isn't connected to a meeting - a quick brainstorm, a personal to-do list, or notes for an ad-hoc conversation. Unscheduled notes let you do exactly that. You can create a standalone note series in seconds, add as many notes as you like, and find them all in one place in your Library.

What Unscheduled Notes Can Do

An unscheduled note is a note that isn't linked to a calendar event. Most notes in Fellow are created automatically when you have a meeting, but unscheduled notes are ones you create yourself, whenever you want.

You can use unscheduled notes for:

  • Personal notes and brainstorms

  • Ad-hoc conversations that weren't on your calendar

  • Ongoing topics you want to track over time

  • Any document that doesn't belong to a scheduled meeting

Like any note in Fellow, unscheduled notes support templates, action items, talking points, and real-time collaboration.

How to Create an Unscheduled Note

You can start a new unscheduled note series from your Library.

  1. Go to your Library

  2. Click the blue plus icon in the top-right corner and select New unscheduled note

  3. In the Create an unscheduled note series window, give your series a name and, optionally, share it with teammates

  4. Click Create

Add more notes to a series

A note series can hold more than one note. Once you've created a series, you can keep adding new notes to it over time.

  1. Open any note in the series

  2. Click the menu icon in the top-left of the note header to open the series menu

  3. Select New unscheduled note

Fellow creates a new note in the series and opens it for you. Your earlier notes stay in the series so you can scroll back to them at any time.

Find your notes

All of your notes live in one place in your Library.

  1. Go to your Library

  2. Select Notes from the sidebar

The Notes page lists every note you have. You can search by name or filter the list to find what you're looking for.

Identify unscheduled notes in a series

If a series contains a note that isn't tied to a calendar event, that note shows a small book icon next to it in the series menu. Hover over the icon to see the Unscheduled note label. This makes it easy to tell at a glance which notes were created on the fly versus those linked to a scheduled meeting.
