Trello Integration

Connect your meeting workflows with your project management in Trello

This integration is available on all paid Fellow plans. The Trello integration connects your meeting workflows in Fellow with your project management workflows in Trello, allowing you to sync action items between both platforms automatically.

About This Integration

The Fellow and Trello integration is a user-level integration, meaning it's configured and managed individually by each user rather than at the workspace level. Every team member who wants to use this integration will need to set it up for themselves.

Who this integration is for

This integration is well-suited for anyone who manages projects and tasks across teams, including:

  • Project Managers

  • Product Managers

  • Marketing professionals

  • Any role requiring task management across platforms

What This Integration Does

The Trello integration provides three main capabilities:

Automatic sync for note series

Connect a Fellow note to a Trello board so that all action items created in that note are automatically synced to the correct Trello board and list. No manual work required.

Automatic card creation

Any action item assigned to you in Fellow will automatically generate a corresponding card in Trello.

Two-way sync

Task names, due dates, and completion status are automatically kept in sync between Fellow and Trello. Both platforms will always reflect the latest state of your work.

Connect Your Trello Account

Before you can sync action items, you need to connect your Trello account to Fellow.

Steps to connect

  1. Go to User Settings β†’ Apps & integrations

  2. Scroll to the Automation section

  3. Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the Trello card

  4. Click Connect

  5. Review the permissions in the authorization popup

  6. Scroll to the bottom and click Allow

  7. You'll see a success notification at the bottom of your screen

Once connected, you can sync individual action items with Trello cards.

Sync Individual Action Items to Trello

You can manually sync specific action items from Fellow to Trello.

Steps to sync an action item

  1. Create an action item in Fellow

  2. Click the three dot dropdown at the end of the line next to the avatar

  3. Select Link to Trello

  4. Specify where the card should go:

    • Select the Trello board

    • Select the Trello list

  5. Click Create card

The action item will now show an icon indicating it's synced to Trello. The status (complete/incomplete), due date, and assignee will stay in sync between Fellow and Trello.

In Trello, the card will show as being created in Fellow.

Connect a Series to a Trello Board

If you have a specific series that corresponds to a Trello board, you can set up automatic syncing so all action items created in that note are automatically sent to Trello.

Steps to connect a series to Trello

  1. Visit the series you want to connect

  2. Click the three dots in the upper right corner

  3. Select Settings from the dropdown

  4. Select Integrations from the sidebar

  5. Click Trello

  6. Select the board you want to sync with the note

  7. Choose which list action items should go to when they're:

    • Incomplete

    • Completed

  8. Click Connect

Once connected, all action items created in this note will automatically sync to your selected Trello board and lists.
