Collaboratively Build Agendas In Advance

Encourage your team to add their talking points before the meeting starts.

When everyone has the opportunity to contribute to an agenda ahead of time, meetings run more smoothly and every voice gets heard - including those who are naturally quieter in group settings. Fellow makes it easy for your whole team to build an agenda together, whenever ideas come up.

Add talking points as they come to mind

Rather than scrambling to remember what you wanted to discuss right before a meeting, add talking points to the note as soon as they occur to you - and encourage your teammates to do the same.

Each talking point shows the avatar of the person who added it, so it's easy to see who's contributing and ensure everyone has a say before the meeting begins.

Add talking points directly from Slack

If something comes up in a Slack conversation that belongs on the agenda, you can add it to a Fellow meeting note without leaving Slack.

To add a message as a talking point:

  1. Hover over the message in Slack.

  2. Click the three-dot menu (β‹―) at the end of the message, or select More message shortcuts.

  3. Choose Add to Meeting Notes and select the relevant meeting.

Share the agenda to prompt contributions

Once you've started building the agenda, share it with your team to invite their input before the meeting. You can send the agenda to a Slack channel, Microsoft Teams channel, or via email directly from the note.

Use sections to assign agenda contributions

Sections are a powerful way to ensure specific teammates contribute to the agenda before the meeting. A section marked with a purple lightning bolt (⚑) will automatically remind the assigned attendees to fill it in ahead of time.

This works well for recurring meetings like standups, retrospectives, or all-hands where different people own different parts of the agenda.

To add a section, open the note and select Section from the content type options in the editor.

Get a pre-meeting brief before you walk in

For recurring meetings where the previous instance was recorded, Fellow can automatically send you a summary of the last meeting along with suggested follow-ups - so you and your team can walk in already up to speed and ready to contribute.

Configure the timing in User Settings > Note Taker > Pre-meeting briefs.

Set up a No Agenda reminder or auto-cancellation

To reinforce the habit of preparing agendas, you can configure Fellow to automatically remind attendees to add an agenda - or cancel the meeting entirely if none is added before a set time.

To enable this, open the meeting note, click the three-dot menu (β‹―) > Settings > Automations, and turn on No Agenda Reminder & Cancellation.
