Fellow Opening on an Old Meeting Note

Troubleshooting Fellow opening on an older meeting note

If Fellow consistently opens to the same old meeting note instead of your current meetings, this is usually caused by bookmarks pointing to specific notes, browser tabs left open, or cached pages. Understanding what's causing this behavior helps you get Fellow to open where you need it - typically your current meetings or home panel.

Common Causes

Bookmarked a specific note

What's happening:

  • You bookmarked Fellow while viewing a specific meeting note

  • The bookmark URL includes the note ID

  • Opening the bookmark always loads that specific note

Example URL: myworkspace.fellow.app/meetings/abc123xyz (points to specific note)

How to fix: See Creating Better Bookmarks section below.

Browser tab left open

What's happening:

  • You left Fellow open in a browser tab on a specific note

  • Browser restored that tab when you reopened it

  • The old note loads instead of your current view

How to fix:

  1. Close the old tab completely

  2. Open Fellow fresh by typing the URL or using a proper bookmark

  3. Navigate to where you want to be (Calendar, Library, etc.)

Cached page loading

What's happening:

  • Browser cache is loading an old version of Fellow

  • Cached page shows the last note you were viewing

How to fix:

  1. Hard refresh the page: Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R

  2. Clear browser cache for fellow.ai

  3. Close and reopen Fellow

Creating Better Bookmarks

Instead of bookmarking specific notes, bookmark pages that always show current information:

Option 1: Bookmark the Calendar page

This always shows your current meetings:

  1. Open your Calendar in Fellow

  2. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar

  3. Delete everything after /calendar/

  4. Your URL should look like: myworkspace.fellow.app/calendar/

  5. Bookmark this URL

When you open this bookmark, you'll see your current meetings list and can select which meeting to open.

Option 2: Bookmark the Action Items page

If you primarily use Fellow for action items:

  1. Open your Calendar in Fellow

  2. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar

  3. Delete everything after /calendar/

  4. Your URL should look like: myworkspace.fellow.app/calendar/

  5. Bookmark this URL

How to Update Your Bookmark

If you already have a Fellow bookmark that opens to an old note:

  1. Open the bookmark in your browser

  2. Navigate to the page you want to bookmark instead (Calendar, Action Items, Library, etc.)

  3. Edit the existing bookmark:

    • Chrome: Right-click bookmark bar > Edit

    • Safari: Bookmarks > Edit Bookmarks

    • Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

  4. Update the URL to the new page

  5. Save changes

Alternatively, delete the old bookmark and create a new one.

Other Solutions

Clear browser history and cache

If bookmarks aren't the issue you can try the following to troubleshoot:

  1. Open browser settings

  2. Clear browsing data

  3. Select Cached images and files

  4. Select Cookies and site data

  5. Clear data

  6. Reopen Fellow

Check for pinned browser tabs

  1. Look for pinned tabs in your browser (small tabs on the left)

  2. If Fellow is pinned on an old note, unpin it

  3. Close the tab and open Fellow fresh

Set a default homepage

Some browsers can set Fellow as your homepage:

  1. If Fellow is your homepage and opens to an old note

  2. Update homepage URL to workspace.fellow.app/calendar/

  3. Fellow will now open to current meetings

Use the desktop app

The desktop app doesn't have bookmark issues:

  1. App always opens to your last view or home panel

  2. No bookmark-related issues

Prevention Tips

Avoid creating bookmarks on specific notes:

  • Bookmark the Calendar page instead

  • Use the Action Items page as a bookmark

  • Close Fellow tabs regularly

  • Use the desktop app

Use search instead of bookmarks:

  • Press Cmd/Ctrl + K to search for any meeting

  • Faster than navigating through bookmarks

  • Always shows current results
