Channels are shared spaces to organize recordings and clips for a topic or team. As a Channel member, you can access all clips and recording recap content published within it, including the recording, summary, and transcript. Note content is not shared automatically.
Channel Types
Default
Admins can set public channels as default channels, where everyone, including new teammates, is added automatically. You can leave a default channel at any time, but you won't be re-added automatically once you leave.
Public
Public channels are discoverable in the Browse Channels modal, and any workspace member can join one. Look for the # icon to identify them.
Private
Private Channels are not listed in the Channel browser. Only current members can add new members to grant them access. Private Channels are identified by a lock icon next to the Channel name.
Channel Roles
Channels have two roles: Members and Managers.
Members
Channel Members can view everything published in the Channel. Depending on the Channel's settings, they can also add recordings and set the Channel as an automatic destination for their own recaps.
Managers
Channel Managers can change a channel's settings without needing workspace admin access. Managers can:
Edit the Channel name, description, and visibility
Add and remove members
Promote and demote other Channel Managers
Choose who can manually share to the Channel
Control who can auto-share to the Channel
Delete the Channel
Whoever creates a Channel becomes its first Channel Manager automatically.
Channels without a Manager
If a Channel has no Managers, any member can manage it, edit settings, manage members, and change visibility. Once a Channel Manager is set, those actions are limited to Channel Managers. If all Channel Managers are removed, the Channel returns to the open state, and any member can manage it again. Workspace admins can always manage Channels.
Create a Channel
Go to your Library:
Click the + beside My Channels
Click New beside Browse Channels
Name your Channel and add a description
Choose whether the Channel is Public or Private
Decide who can manually add to it
Determine who can auto-publish to it
Click Next
Add teammates to the Channel (optional)
Use the ︙ Menu to promote a member to a manager
Click Create
As the creator, you will become the Channel's first Channel Manager by default.
Manage your channels
View Channel details
From the My Channels list, hover over the channel and click the three-dot menu, then select Channel Details. You can also open the channel itself and use the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
Add a new Member
Open Channel Details.
Click Members.
Click Add to Channel.
Select one or more team members.
Click Add.
Those added will have access to every recording already in the Channel.
Promote Members to Managers
Open Channel Details, go to the About tab, click Managed by, select one or more members, and click Save.
You can also do this from the Members tab: hover over a member, click the three-dot menu, and select Make Channel Manager.
Demote Managers to Members
Follow the same steps in reverse: open Channel Details, go to the About tab, click Managed by, deselecting the member under Managed by (or using Remove as Channel Manager from the Members tab).
A demoted manager stays a member of the channel. If you remove the only remaining manager, Fellow warns you that every member will be able to manage the channel again.
Change sharing settings
Sharing settings can be chosen when creating a Channel or updated later.
Open Channel Details.
Click the Settings tab.
Under Manual Sharing, choose who can manually share. Under Automated sharing, choose who can auto-share.
View auto-sharing sources
Open Channel Details, click the Settings tab, then click Sharing Automations. This shows every meeting series sending recaps to the channel and how many they've contributed, plus every member auto-sharing their own recaps and their contribution count.
To stop a member from auto-sharing into the Channel, click the three-dot menu and click Remove. This updates that person's own settings so the Channel is no longer their destination. Removing someone's auto-sharing is available to Channel Managers and workspace admins.
View associated trackers
Open Channel Details, click the Settings tab, then click Trackers to see every tracker scanning recordings in the channel for keywords, phrases, or concepts. You can't edit or remove a tracker here; update it from your workspace's tracker settings instead.
Leave a Channel
From the My Channels list, hover over the channel, click the three-dot menu, and select Leave Channel. You can leave at any time. If the channel is private, you'll need a new invite to rejoin.
Remove Members from a Channel
From the My Channels list:
Hover on the Channel in the My Channels list
Click the three-dot menu that appears on the right side
Click Channel Details
Click Members
Hover upon the member you want to remove
Click the three-dot menu that appears on the right side
Click Remove
Share to Channels
Auto-share all recaps: user level
You can automatically share clips, transcripts, and call recordings to Channels directly from your Recordings library.
Click your Workspace Logo in the top-left corner, then go to User Settings
Open the Note Taker tab and toggle on Auto-share recaps
Select a Channel for your external recordings, and optionally a separate Channel for internal recordings.
Auto-share all recaps to Channels: series level
If you want to auto-share recaps from specific meeting series rather than all series, you can configure this at the meeting series level.
Navigate to the meeting note
Click the three-dot menu > Settings > Automations
Next to Share to Fellow Channels, click Configure
Select the Channel you want to share recaps with
Toggle the automation on
Note: This automation applies to recaps generated after it's enabled. Any existing recaps will need to be shared manually
Manually share a single recap to a Channel
For more control over sharing, you can share recaps on a per-meeting-note basis.
Click the paper plane icon to open your sharing options.
Go to the Share tab and search for the Channel(s) you'd like to share the recap with.
Click Share.
The recap's visibility will update to reflect Channel access.
Workspace Channel Settings
Workspace admins can manage channel settings across the whole workspace from Workspace Settings > Channels.
Setting Default Channels
In Workspace Settings:
Click Channels
Click Add in the Default section
Hover upon a Channel and click Select
Click Add to confirm
A few things to know:
Only public Channels can be default Channels
Adding a Channel to the list enrolls new teammates only.
Existing teammates in your workspace are not added automatically unless you choose to when adding the Channel.
Removing a channel from the list only stops future auto-enrollment. Existing members retain their membership.
Channel Managers cannot change this list.
