Fellow lets you personalize the Note Taker's appearance and behaviour so it reflects your company's branding. As a workspace admin, you can update the Note Taker's avatar, display name, and the message it sends when joining a call - and these changes will apply to everyone in your workspace.

Note: This feature is available on the Solo, Business, and Enterprise plans.

How to customize the Note Taker

To get started, navigate to your workspace logo > Workspace Settings > Note Taker & AI.

From there, you'll find three customization options:

Avatar

Upload a custom image to use as the Note Taker's avatar. This is what meeting participants will see when the Note Taker joins their call.

You can also toggle the avatar image off entirely. When the image is turned off, the Note Taker will appear without a picture while actively recording, but will display an image during other recording statuses (such as waiting to join or paused).

Once you've configured this to your liking, click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

Display name

You have two options for how the Note Taker's name appears in calls:

  1. User's name: the Note Taker will display the first name of the user who invited it to the call.

  2. Note Taker name: set a custom name for the Note Taker across your entire workspace. This name will appear for all users. The name can be up to 80 characters long.

Once you've configured this to your liking, click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

Message

You can enable, disable, or fully customize the message the Note Taker sends when it successfully joins a meeting. This is a great opportunity to let participants know they're being recorded.

You can use the following variables in your message, and they'll automatically be replaced with the real values when the Note Taker joins:

  • {User} β€” the name of the person who invited the Note Taker

  • {Note Taker name} β€” the custom Note Taker name set for your workspace

Once you've configured this to your liking, click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

How it looks in your meetings

Changes to the avatar, name, and message are reflected across all supported meeting providers (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and more). In the call, the Note Taker will display your custom avatar alongside recording status indicators.
