Note: This is an Enterprise plan feature available only to workspace administrators.

The Workspace Audit Log provides a centralized record of all user activity within your Fellow workspace. This audit trail helps security teams prevent suspicious activity, investigate incidents, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. From user logins to integration changes, every action is tracked with timestamps and user details, giving administrators complete visibility into workspace activity.

Important: This article covers the general Workspace Audit Log. For information about API request logging, see Developer API.

What the Audit Log Can Do

The Workspace Audit Log tracks all security-relevant actions across your Fellow workspace, creating an immutable record for compliance and security purposes.

Key capabilities:

  • Monitor all user login and logout activity

  • Track changes to workspace settings and security configurations

  • Audit integration activations and deactivations

  • Review delegated access usage and modifications

  • Investigate suspicious activity or security incidents

  • Export audit data for compliance reporting

  • Filter by specific users or activity types

Try it:

  • Review who made changes to workspace security settings

  • Track when delegated access was granted or revoked

  • Monitor integration activations across your organization

  • Export compliance reports for security audits

  • Investigate unusual login patterns or account activity

How to Access the Audit Log

Only workspace administrators can access the audit log. Here's how to find it:

  1. Click on Workspace Settings in the main menu

  2. Navigate to Security

  3. Select the Audit Log tab at the top of the page

The audit log will display all recent activity for your workspace.

What Activity is Tracked

The audit log captures multiple types of workspace activity to provide comprehensive oversight:

User Activity

  • User was invited to the workspace

  • User logged in or logged out

  • User's profile information was updated

  • User was deleted or deactivated

  • User invited a guest to collaborate

Delegated Access Activity

  • Delegated user was created

  • Delegated user's access was revoked

  • Delegate logged in or out as the delegator (accessed their account)

Filtering and Searching Logs

By default, the audit log displays activity for your entire workspace. You can filter to focus on specific areas:

Filter by User

Search for a specific user to see all their activity:

  1. Click on the User filter dropdown

  2. Search for or select the user you want to review

  3. The log will show only that user's activity

Filter by Activity Type

Search for specific types of actions:

  1. Click on the Activity filter dropdown

  2. Select one or multiple activity types (e.g., "Delegated user enabled")

  3. Use multi-select to compare related activities (e.g., "Users login/logout" and "Delegate access added/removed")

Try filtering for:

  • Login/logout patterns to identify unusual access

  • Integration changes to track workspace configuration

  • Delegated access modifications for security compliance

  • Workspace setting changes to understand configuration history

Exporting Audit Log Data

You can export audit log data as a CSV file for compliance reporting or external analysis:

  1. Set your desired filters (user, activity type, date range)

  2. Click the Export button in the upper right corner

  3. The CSV file will download with the filtered results

Important limitation: There is a 30-day maximum on the date range, so you can only export 30 days of data at a time. For longer periods, you'll need to export multiple files.

Data Retention

Audit log data is retained according to Fellow's standard retention policies. The export feature allows you to download up to 30 days of historical data at a time.

For organizations with specific compliance requirements around audit log retention (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR), contact your Fellow account team to discuss your data retention needs.
