Fellow's Zoom App brings your meeting notes directly into your Zoom calls, allowing you to collaborate on agendas, capture decisions, and manage action items without leaving the call.
What is Fellow's Zoom App?
The Fellow Zoom App embeds your Fellow meeting notes into a side panel within your Zoom calls, eliminating the need to switch between windows or tabs. When you join a Zoom meeting, your relevant Fellow note opens automatically, keeping you focused on the conversation rather than managing your tools.
Requirements
The latest version of the Zoom desktop client
A Fellow account (existing or new)
A connected GSuite or Office 365 calendar (recommended, for automatic note matching)
Installing the Zoom App
There are two methods to install Fellow's Zoom App:
Method 1: Via the Zoom Desktop Client
Open the Zoom desktop client.
Navigate to Apps in the top navigation bar, or click Apps in the bottom navigation bar during a meeting.
Search for Fellow and click Install.
Method 2: Via the Zoom App Marketplace in a Browser
Visit the Zoom App Marketplace in your browser.
Search for Fellow and select the marketplace listing.
Click the Install button in the top-right corner of the page.
Whichever method you choose, you will be prompted to grant Fellow authorization to basic data on your Zoom account. Completing this authorization installs the app into your Zoom desktop client.
Connecting Your Fellow Account
Once the app is installed, you will be prompted to sign in to Fellow or create a new account:
New users: Click Create a Fellow account to complete onboarding in your browser. Once your account is set up, return to the Zoom App and click I created my account to sign in.
Existing users: Click Log in and sign in using the same options available in the Fellow browser app.
Once signed in, you will remain logged in to the Zoom App across sessions.
Note: Your Fellow account can only be connected to a single Zoom account at a time. If you need to switch workspaces within the Zoom client, you will first need to uninstall and reinstall the app.
Using Fellow During a Zoom Call
While in a Zoom meeting, click Apps in the bottom navigation bar.
Select Fellow from the tray to open the app panel within the call.
When the panel loads, one of the following will occur depending on your setup:
If you are not signed in β You will be prompted to sign in before proceeding.
If the meeting is linked to a calendar event β If your GSuite or Office 365 calendar contains the current Zoom meeting URL and the event is scheduled for approximately the current time, the relevant Fellow note will open automatically.
If the meeting is not linked to a calendar event β A calendar view of the current day will be displayed. From here you can open an existing note, select a note series, or create a new meeting note.
In-Call Features
Notes displayed in the Zoom App panel are fully editable, identical to the browser experience. In addition, the following Zoom-specific features are available above the panel:
Share: Broadcasts the panel content to all call participants as a screen share.
Send App: Sends an invitation to all call participants to install the Fellow Zoom App. If a meeting note is open when the invitation is sent, Fellow will automatically identify participants who should be added to the Note series.
Keeping the App Up to Date
When Fellow releases an update to the Zoom App, new permissions may need to be granted for the app to function correctly. To update:
Follow the update prompt within the Zoom client, or click the Update button when notified.
Additionally, ensure the Zoom App is updated from within Fellow by navigating to User Settings β Apps & Integrations.
Keeping the app updated ensures that the Fellow Note Taker will automatically join your calls without requiring manual admission.
